Flagler Beach
holds several special events throughout the year, such as a traditional 4th of July celebration and an annual Easter egg hunt. These events, along with other special activities such as surfing contests and fishing contests, are reminiscent of “Old Florida,” and give visitors, as well as residents, an opportunity to enjoy great, old-fashioned family fun. Other special events include arts and crafts shows, small town beauty contests, live music and local entertainment. An on-going special event in Flagler Beach is the Friday Farmer’s Market. This special community gathering takes place in the center of town and features vendors selling farm fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, nuts and plants. The major events found in Flagler Beach and Flagler County are listed below.
Annual Easter Egg Hunt – Takes place at Veteran’s Park in Flagler Beach and includes a visit from the Easter Bunny and refreshments.
Fabulous 4th of July Festivities – Enjoy spectacular fireworks at the end of the pier. This is a fun-filled family event at Veteran’s park, with arts & crafts, lots of food, a parade, carnival games, and music. Local beachside restaurants and cafes also provide free entertainment and music.
Holiday at the Beach – Santa arrives at Flagler Beach. This event also features a drum & bugle marching band, holiday arts and crafts, a parade, hayride and the lighting of Veteran’s Park.
The Creek Side Festival in Palm Coast – This old-fashioned hometown festival is a two-day event, usually held in October and is complete with kayak and walking tours, story tellers, live music, a photography contest, hayrides, sack races, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities. Held at the Princess Place Preserve in Flagler County. Children of all ages can participate in the arts and crafts and games.
Cracker Day – This Flagler County favorite is a glimpse into how the west side of Flagler County was won. The day is filled with barbecue, games and rodeo. It is usually held the last Saturday of March.
Annual Taste of Flagler – Sponsored by the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, This event supports the local restaurant community. It gives local food vendors a chance to show off and gives residents and visitors a chance to sample.
Annual Holiday Boat Parade – Lighted and unlighted boats vie for prizes. Held on the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holiday in the Gardens – Washington Oaks Garden in Flagler County. Come see the spectacular candlelit pathways aglow with over 2,000 luminary candles. The gardens are decorated with red poinsettias, twinkling lights and other decorations. Santa and Mrs. Claus are on hand to greet children and food, story telling and other entertainment is offered. Admission is one toy per vehicle or one non-perishable food items per person.
